If your tired of dragging the old flymo about as I've found them to be heavy when the grass box is full and prefer a more leisurely experience then this mower might be your thing.
I bought this because I wanted something that would last and because of the scarifier cassette option.
Be warned though, this or any other cylinder type is not the mower for you if your lawn is bumpy as your cutting height will be limited to the higher settings to avoid scalping. The rollers follow the level of the lawn so a bumpy lawn means a bumpy ride. If your lawn is level then no worries otherwise if not too bad a regular top dress should improve the level over several seasons.
I was however disappointed with the quality of the cable which is unruly and feels cheap but on the plus side it's pretty quiet due to the smaller motor needed for cylinder types and gives a far superior cut than any mower I have ever had. One thing to note is that these are the same as the 'Windsor' machines which also have self propelled and petrol versions more expensive than this model which is something to consider if you've got anything bigger than a small lawn.
A joy to use but she needs looking after just like any old fashioned girl!

A mower designed for the small to medium lawn, long awaited product
well thought out. and very easy to operate. It is a very keen cutter
and the roller is steel (not plastic),easily adusted, well finished, and easily stored.Scarifier can be inserted for the cylinder -- optional extra. Overall very good value.

Good quality electric cylinder mower. More suited to medium size gardens as it is heavy and can be difficult to manouver. Unless your lawn is relatively flat it will 'scalp' the high spots. Although the collection box will collect most of the cuttings a small amount is deposited on the mower itself and needs to be brushed down when the cutting is completed. As the collection box is on the front of the mower it is sometimes difficult to cut right upto a border edge if a bush is planted close.

The image does not show that there is a frame on the front to support the grass box, or that the grass box is in fact mounted on the front.
The QXTM "quick change cassette" requires the removal of side plate and fixing screws then the drive belt. This will require resetting for the alternative cassette. It's notSuffolk Punch SP 12E Electric Cylinder Lawn Mower (12 inch /30 cm) like a printer cassette and requires the use of hand tools which are not provided or explained in the discription.
